How Places Are Chosen

Every place on Ulster Unplugged starts from a licensed public dataset: council playground registers, Active Places NI, the NI Sites and Monuments Record, or the Causeway Coast and Glens open data bundle. That gives each listing a verifiable source and a licence, shown on the listing page.

A listing only gets published once it has coordinates, a region, a listing type, at least one suitability tag and a verified date. Anything missing one of those stays in draft.

Coordinates and address details are checked against the source dataset before publishing. Where a detail was estimated rather than sourced directly, we say so and correct it as soon as it is confirmed.

Routes and itineraries only link to listings and routes that are already published. You will not find an itinerary pointing at a place that does not have its own page yet.

If you spot something wrong, out of date, or missing, use the Submit a Place page to tell us. We update the record and the verified date together.
